IVANHOE Cerberus Illusion
Ivanhoe Cerberus Illusion was born in a long-awaited litter. Each litter at Cerberus Illusion kennel is carefully planned many years ahead. The situation with our I litter was the same. Years ago Anakin gave me the extraordinary D litter where he was able to “clone” himself in several puppies. Puppies inherited not only the beautiful anatomy, but a genius puppy was born as well. It was Duncan, the one who stayed at home and soon became the first Cimarron in the world who passed the first working exam at the age of 3 months. As Duncan was growing I was more and more happy with him – “the wonderful son of a wonderful Daddy“. Given his name – there could be only one puppy who stayed at home.
Creation of a new line at Cerberus Illusion
Duncan made me think more and more about a new breeding plan – the creation of another working line. But I needed a new female from absolutely different line. The selection was not easy. I was searching for many years till I found the best one – Albira Alma Celeste. It is a know-how to select a puppy from different line, which will give puppies with desired characteristics and this is not the place I would like to write about it. But my dream came true with the litter of this special girl. She gave me exactly the puppies I dreamt of. I cannot thank enough to my friends Renatka and Laďka who allowed me to choose Albira as the first chosen puppy from their first Cimarron Uruguayo litter.
The birth of Ivanhoe Cerberus Illusion
Before this litter was born, I had a name selected for one of the male puppies – Ivanhoe in spite of the fact I wanted to keep a female. While Albira was pregnant I told to my Anakin – the father of her puppies: “There is Ivanhoe growing in the belly of Albira”. He looked at me with expression: “Ivanhoe? I do not know it.” So I explained: “Ivanhoe is your SON. Son, you know, like Duncan.” He looked at me: “Duncan, yes, I know him” I mentioned Ivanhoe several times to Anakin before he was born.
Ivanhoe was born as the first puppy. The biggest puppy with the biggest head came the first… Poor mummy… But, thanks to this, the delivery of his siblings was very easy and fast. It was similar when his father was born – Anakin was the puppy with the biggest head in A litter and he was the first born. Ivanhoe was my favorite puppy since the first moment. There was a close relationship between us two since the moment I helped him into this world. His mother had her first litter and it was not easy for her to give birth to her first-born son.
I introduced Ivanhoe to his daddy a couple of weeks after his birth. When I told to Anakin: “This is your son, Ivanhoe”, he looked at me “Ivanhoe, yes, I already know, you mentioned him many times.”
Character of Ivanhoe Cerberus Illusion
As always I had been watching Ivanhoe, waiting for his development, his character and, of course, the working potential. He was growing into a kissing always smiling boy with open friendly character, extraordinary anatomy and movement.
Each time we were together, he was luckily smiling, wagging all his body and kissing me all the time. I started calling him “my kissing baby”. Ivanhoe was a very self-confident puppy that was not afraid of anything. He loved all people. In fact, he was such a cute puppy I did not offer him to anybody as if something deep inside me knew he was mine since the moment I selected his name. Some might not know that I usually select the name of my own puppies only, the owners who are waiting for their puppies can choose their name themselves.
Work and training
I started obedience and trick training with Ivanhoe together with his sister Inari when they were 8 weeks old. He was mesmerizing. Similarly as Duncan years ago, Ivanhoe was as a obedience maniac, ready to do anything anytime and really fast. The explanation of this phenomenon is simple, he was the 3rd generation of my own working Cimarrons from Anakin and grandmother Connie line. I cannot forget his mother Albira, as Ivanhoe inherited the extraordinary capability of playing football from her.
Ivanhoe started dog show training really soon, at the age of couple of weeks.
At the age of 5 month he excelled in his first show – at the club dog show where he was able also to win in BIS ring winning Minor Puppy & Puppy Best In Show I. I was really proud of my boy as he was competing also with much older puppies (till age of 9 months).
Ivanhoe is a real gem – a wonderful boy who is showing me since the first moment he will do anything for me. As soon as he saw his daddy helping me during feeding by carrying the empty bowls, he started doing the same. This it just the beginning of my boy and I am sure, he will soon follow in his father’s footsteps.
