Cerberus Illusion cattery is breeding only strictly selected Ragdoll cats. We select show & breeding quality Ragdolls for breeding that are without any visible faults. Except for the excellent anatomy according to the standard, the character is crucial for us as we want to produce kittens with cuddling and purring character, which follow their masters as a shadow and release their body if they are picked-up. This is the reason why we select the parents really carefully.

The beginning

The same time my Cimarron Uruguayo I litter (May 2023) was born a stray cat gave birth to three kittens in the neighborhood. One survived and I started to feed it as its mother disappeared. The kitten might be 3 weeks old. I mentioned to my neighbor what happened and asked if he does not want the kitten. First he refused, but a day later he came for it and took it home by the words: “OK? but it will live outside!”

Next morning he called me and mentioned that the kitten had been following him everywhere, also to the bedroom and the rest room. Still asleep in the morning, I could not understand first, how could the kitten follow him into his bedroom if it was outside? Then, it dawned on me that it was sleeping inside. My neighbor refused any animal offer during the years but now, he was really happy having a kitten.

It was a silent little boy and all he was saying was “Nyi” – so he was named “Nyinyi”. He speaks with a really quiet voice and minimally. It was pleasure to see Nyinyi grow up and being his “babysitter” when needed. In the late autumn 2023 he was castrated and he lives a lucky indoor and outdoor cat life with my neighbor.

Longing for own kitten

While Nyinyi was growing at my neighbor, I raised my 2 puppies – Inari and Ivanhoe and I was more and more thinking about the option to have an own cat as well. But, I wanted an indoor pure breed cat. I knew that I need a cat that is not a usual one who is living its life without the need to interact with people. I knew I wanted a cat that will be my shadow similarly as my Cimarrons. In my dreams, my cat would be a really clever one capable of understanding what I want and learning many things similarly like a dog. My dream was to have something like a “dog cat”.

The choice of the breed

I googled out the cat breeds and started reading the description of each breed one after another. There were a few breeds which grabbed my attention but then I got to the description of Ragdolls. As soon as I read it I wrote to my Czech friend – a wonderful lady over 70 who has been having Ragdolls for many years. I asked her: “Is it true that they are like dogs? Do they really follow their master? Do they enjoy cuddling and being close to their person?” She answered me? “Yes, I wanted to suggest you Ragdolls as the perfect cat breed for you as they are really like dogs. All you read about them was true.” This was the moment I made my final decision. I will have Ragdolls.

Finding my first Ragdoll was not easy at all. I found many beautiful Ragdolls with pedigrees, but I wanted to find also the right responsible breeder. A person who knows what she/he is doing and why and who can answer all my questions concerning the breed as well as breeding of Ragdolls. As a breeder with long-term breeding program for my beloved Cimarron Uruguayo dogs I wanted my Ragdoll from a similar person. The destiny is so interesting. When I started to search my first Ragdoll, I was clear about the color as well as the variety which I want. And I was clear about one variety and also one color which I do not want at all – bicolor.

The selection of my first Ragdoll

I remember the evening at the end of December 2023 when I was scrolling down in a Facebook group and I saw the photo of a bicolor tomcat (my male´s brother). I felt in love. Yes, he was bicolor, the only variety I did not want at all, but this kitten was so beautiful. This was the first time I saw such a beautiful bicolor Ragdoll. I wrote to his breeder in spite of the fact there were holidays. It was really late so I did not expect any answer the same day neither the next one (the last day of the year). But the reply came back within a few minutes.

The breeder informed me the tomcat I had seen is already reserved. As I found 2 more kittens posted sooner I asked concerning them, but they were all taken. I cannot express by words how sad I became, as I like all of them so much. I had to recognize, that this breeder´s kittens are ALL so picturesque.

When I started thinking that as soon as I find my perfect Ragdoll, it is no more available, he sent me photos of Jamiroquai Ha-Pa-Zu*SK. He simply mesmerized me. He was the most beautiful Ragdoll kitten I have ever seen. Jami was nicer than the kittens which I had sooner seen from this kennel. He was a king already at the age of 3,5 months. We had a long chat with his breeder that evening and I couldn´t wait for the moment when I would be able to take him home. The full story of my special boy is available HERE.

Taking home King Jami was one of the best decisions in my life. He showed me not only what a TOP show Ragdoll should look like but also what character should he have. This tomcat showed me so much from the cat world and especially the Ragdoll world. I let him health tested for genetic diseases to see if I can breed him.

Long search for the perfect Ragdoll Queen

Meanwhile I started to search for our Queen. Already having known the perfect Ragdoll character this task was not so easy. After having found the best King I could have ever wished for, I wanted a similar Queen. I remember the day when I saw the photo of Candy. It was a sunny summer day and she looked so noble and majestic – a Queen! First I did not dare to write to her breeder but during the next few days I got back to her photos. I searched her photos from younger age and the more I was looking at her the more familiar she was to me. Each time I saw her deep blue eyes I felt like her place is in our family.

After I contacted her breeder, I was lucky she is still free. Her breeder introduced her wonderful character as well as her habits and I started to prepare her new place. She soon entered our lives. She was indescribable. With head up, speaking minimally, the nobility radiated from her. The Queen!

As soon as King Jami was introduce to her she was the one to set the borders. She made the decision and he had to fulfil it. And King Jami, as a real gentleman, did everything to make his Queen satisfied and happy.

Today I can say I found my first breeding couple from TOP breeders. Both breeder couples are very nice people with plenty of love, enthusiasm and devotion for the breed and their cats. Both have deep knowledge about Ragdolls and are ready to advise anytime I ask for help. I would like to thank to Ha-Pa-Zu and Cassovia Dolls kennels and to their owners – I could not have my most special Ragdolls without them.

Health tests

Shortly after the arrival of our Ragdolls they were health tested. Both are FeLV/FIV negative. Each our Ragdoll is DNA tested in Germany for over 30 genetical diseases with negative results (for more details visit the page of the given King or Queen). We let DNA test also their blood group and color information so we have the most information available for our breeding program.
